? Experience in compiling and debugging applications using GCC, GDB, and various tools.
? Expert working knowledge in the following areas of Linux system administration. General system administration, Software management and configuration, Patch management, Security and auditing, Kernel configuration and management, File system management and configuration, Software installation, configuration, and management.
? Extensive experience with VOIP applications such as Asterisk, Freeswitch, etc.
? Expertise with networking in a Linux environment such as TCP/IP, subnets, iptables, netstat, network security, etc. Thorough understanding of wired ethernet and troubleshooting network connectivity problems.
? Extensive experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable HA environment using open source application such as DRDB, LVS, Linux Heartbeat, etc.
? Extensive experience with virtualization application such as XEN, etc. Ability to troubleshoot virtualization issues.
? Develop Linux systems requirements and specifications for compatibility, speed, and fault-tolerance
? Perform software installations and timely upgrades to Linux operating systems and layered software packages
? Periodically fine-tune and monitor Linux systems to achieve optimum level performance and stability

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
? Plan, design, and recommend platforms for building, installing, configuring, and maintaining Linux servers in support of all development, QA, and business hosting/processing environments
? Provide technical/architectural design best practices to increase availability and usability of supported systems
? Disaster Recovery management and testing
? Linux administration, performance tuning, monitoring, maintaining fault tolerance
? Maintain a high level of stability and availability for all supported systems
? Performs application upgrades and updates during change control windows
? Create and maintain up-to-date documentation for all supported systems provide insight to allow continuous improvement
? Work with all departments to troubleshoot application issues
? Analyze issue and event trends
? NAS storage administration; storage provisioning
? Establish IT policies and procedures for installations, upgrades, and maintenance
? Develop and implement systems security policies and procedures
? Ensure server data integrity by evaluating, implementing, and managing appropriate software and hardware solutions
? Document configurations and maintain such documentation per department change control methodologies
? Conduct routine audits of all Unix servers for compliance with established standards, policies, configuration guidelines, and procedures
? Perform periodic patching/testing for compatibility and performance to establish baseline systems requirements
? Must have operations experience in 24x7 environment
? 4+ years of Linux System Administration experience
? Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or information systems/MIS or equivalent experience required.
? Red Hat, or other certifications a plus.
