Total Programs behavior respite program is based on Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles and researched intervention strategies and includes individualized recommendations made by Total Programs team of specialists. The purpose of behavior respite is to follow the behavior intervention plan by increasing positive, desirable, or adaptive behaviors while simultaneously reducing maladaptive, unwanted behaviors.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Responsibilities
Demonstrate integrity of the behavior plan.
Must demonstrate competency in intervention techniques (ie. modeling, differential reinforcement, functional communication training, etc.) outlined in the behavior intervention plan.
Complete appropriate documentation of client's progress (i.e. data sheets, logs, progress reports, etc.)
Meet with supervisors on-site and at Total Programs on a monthly basis.
Provide intervention to individuals who may have intense behaviors; carry out intervention plans involving toilet training.
Provide behavior respite services in the individual's home.
Maintain confidentiality of information relating to client information.
Submission of payroll, direct service logs, and reports in accordance to company policies.
Must complete 9 hours of ABA training.
Must meet additional 12 hours of training each year.
Must have daily access to working technology (computer, cell phone, working email).

Requirements
High School Diploma.
Experience working with developmental disabilities for a minimum of one year.
Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of ABA principles after introductory training period.
Bilingual highly desired, but not required.
Must be 21 years of age.
Enjoy working with children and families from diverse backgrounds.
Proficiency in Word and Excel for progress reports and graphing data.
Reliable transportation.
Recognizes and demonstrates professional boundaries with families and coworkers.
Report any suspicion of child abuse or neglect.
Ability to stand, bend and lift as well as be able to physically interact with active client.
Implement CPR and First Aid techniques if necessary.
