Melrose.com (formerly Melrose Jewelers), a leading online luxury goods retailer performing approximately $10 million in annual revenue, is currently seeking an additional Business Development Associate to join its growing business development team. The successful applicant will join a highly-motivated, entrepreneurial-minded team focused on expanding the current business and led by a University of Southern California (USC) MBA graduate who previously helped grow and sell a company to Amazon.com. This individual will work directly with the President of the company to perform inside sales, perform competitive market research, implement new projects, interact with our 10-employee team and additional partners abroad, and contribute, in other ways, to the overall efficiency of the company's sales and operations departments. Compensation for this position is very competitive and may include an equity stake in the company in addition to a base salary and healthcare benefits. Please note that Melrose.com is a startup company, only 3 years old, and that the position is based in our Sales/Marketing office within the President's house in the Hollywood Hills. The company will be moving to an office in the Hollywood/West Hollywood area within the next 6 months.
This position is ideal for a recent college graduate with at least a basic background in finance or accounting to obtain significant first-hand start-up business experience working with a highly-educated, ambitious, and successful young team. Please Note: Melrose.com operates at the technologically-sophisticated cutting edge of the online retail sector and in a start-up, entrepreneurial environment. With revenues growing nearly 250% over the past 3 years, Melrose.com is seeking employees who are able to rapidly think on their feet, who are capable of contributing to the productivity of the company as a whole, and who can even offer suggestions on ways to improve its business.
The hours are approximately 8 AM to 6 PM on weekdays with occasional work on weekends. The annual salary is $50,000/year to start with the ability to make over $75,000 in year 1 and over $100,000 by year 2. Other benefits include consideration for performance-based stock options, healthcare benefits, as well as other company perks such as Lakers basketball and other sports tickets. Top performing new employees will also have the potential to advance within the company after only a 6-month period.

*College degree from a top-50 ranked 4-year U.S. university (The current team includes multiple University of Southern California, UCLA, Stanford, & Cal 4-year and MBA graduates)

*Advanced computer & technology proficiency (Windows, Excel, and internet)

*Must live in Los Angeles or L.A. county (Office is in Hollywood)
*The basics: a working car and no criminal record
*The ability to work during the winter holiday season as we perform most of our sales during this time. (Christmas day is off)
