Description:
The IT Engineer is a part of a dynamic Engineering team that is responsible for assuring the stability of the computing infrastructure that supports the company's business systems. The IT Engineer will be working with the Systems Administrator and Development team to analyze proposed application architectures and determine the impact on network infrastructures. Additionally, this role will include managing the network including backup, security management, user account management, email systems, internet access, office systems and applications support This position will work closely with the Systems Administrator.
General Requirements:
? Minimum of 5 years in a Technical Support-type environment
? Experience supporting end users both physically and remotely
? Experience with all major operating systems, office suites, etc.
? Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
? Must possess and utilize meticulous documentation skills.
? Ability to develop thorough, "human readable" training and reference materials.
? Ability to manage multiple requests, prioritize and manage time effectively to meet demanding deadlines.
? Possess accurate fault isolation skills.
? Must possess unquestionable reliability, dependability, and pride in your work.
? Must have excellent organizational skills.
Technical Requirements:
? Extensive, broad experience and skill set related to IT, networking, Windows Domains, VPN, and wired and wireless network technologies and support environments
? Extensive experience in all major operating systems, including Windows and Linux. Red Hat a plus.
? Experience with trouble ticketing systems, including creation and response to tickets.
? Extensive experience managing users, groups, accounts in various directory services.
? Experience supporting Google Apps, Gmail, Google Docs etc.
? General experience with all forms of industry standard networking hardware and protocols.
? General experience with asset management software, databases, etc.
? A strong working knowledge of industry standard computer hardware, including set up of workstations, system imaging and virtualization.
? General understanding of WiFI and related protocols, hardware, etc.
? Experience with identifying and responding to monitoring system alerts.
? Perform regular security checking to detect infections and clean them.
? Perform routine audits of systems and software.
? Must be security conscious at all times.
? Ability to write scripts as needed in support of system monitoring and software deployment/maintenance on both windows and Linux.
Additional Considerations:
? Ability to lift 50lbs on occasion.
