Overview: In 2013, Los Angeles will go to the polls to elect a new mayor. LA needs a mayor that can reenergize the city, put its potential to work, and give a voice to all its residents. Emanuel Pleitez is the best candidate for this job. The son of Mexican and Salvadoran immigrants, Emanuel is a young and innovative LA native who understands the issues many Angelenos face every day. Emanuel is committed to building a team of individuals that can energize and mobilize LA's diverse communities. The Emanuel Pleitez for Mayor of Los Angeles Campaign will select a group of talented, passionate, and self-motivated individuals to engage voters and learn about campaigns.

Position Description: The Voter Persuasion Agent interacts with voters via phone at our phone-banking center to maximize exposure to the candidate and drive voter engagement. This position is available through March 5, with a potential extension through May 21 depending on election results.

Compensation: Performance based (room and board also available)

Start date: Immediate

Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Making calls to voters consistently for a full shift
Delivering prepared scripts to ask voters for their support for the candidate
Responding to questions regarding the election, the candidate, and voter registration
Obtaining more information as needed about voters
Speaking to voters about the candidate in a concise, courteous, and convincing manner
Using technology provided in a responsible manner

Job requirements:

Excellent skills in written and verbal communication
Bilingual in Spanish and English
Proficient in general computer applications
General knowledge of call center telephony and technology
Knowledge of customer service principles and practices
