Registered Nurse:Seattle Children's Hospital-Neonatal Intensive Care U (Los Angeles, CA)

Seattle Children's consistently ranks among the best children's hospitals in the country by U.S. News & World Report.  We invite you to bring your career to an environment where talent is rewarded and new ideas are encouraged. At Seattle Children's, the Pacific Northwest’s premier pediatric care center, we offer more than just state-of-the-art facilities and open career growth potential. You will also find a true commitment to our patients and families that reach far beyond the bounds of clinical expertise.

Seattle Children's has the only level IV NICU in the 5 state region and provides quaternary care to neonates up to 44 weeks gestational age. It is unique from a traditional NICU as many of the patients have congenital diagnoses requiring specialized pre-operative and post-operative surgical care. Critically ill neonates with complex medical issues are also cared for in this unit. The all RN staff works closely with respiratory therapists, nutritionists, social workers, pharmacists and physicians to provide specialized care including nitric oxide, ECMO/ECLS (Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation/Extracorporeal Life Support) and infant ground transport.

One of the goals of the NICU is to provide a family centered care environment where parents are partners in care with our multidisciplinary team. The beautiful physical environment of mostly single rooms is comfortable and calming for the patients/families and maximizes developmental support for the infants. As an integral member of the Health Care Team, the RN functions within the Scope of Practice as defined by the State, the ANA Scope and Standards for Pediatric Nursing Practice, and adheres to Seattle Children’s policies/procedures and guidelines of care.

We are proud to be a Magnet hospital and consistently rate in the top 10 pediatric hospitals nation-wide.
