The minus: Contract employee, no benefits, hourly pay to start.
The plus: you're not writing thousand of words for pennies (like many of these lame ads offer), you have super smart and fun coworkers; it's great experience and a real opportunity to grow a department where none existed before.
*Must be able to assess and suggest ways to improve online reputation, evaluate review sites, answering Yelp reviews etc. when necessary. You will be expected to develop and present a clear strategy for growing our online (and offline!) reputation throughout the next year.
*Must be conscientious, be able to adhere to strict deadlines, be able to write fast, and balance multiple priorities simultaneously-as well as understand the difference between "its" and "it's."
This opportunity is perfect for a writer looking to gain real and paid experience writing across multiple media channels as well as in "thinking outside the box" for ways to enhance our already positive Internet reputation. This is not a good job for a daytime student or someone who needs to take lots of frequent vacation time. Be willing to work hard and show up and go beyond what you're told to accomplish.
Must be someone who is okay working in a group environment. A sense of humor helps. Geekiness a plus, but know-it-alls need not apply. Be a team player and comfortable eating pizza.
Please submit cover letter telling us a little about your goals and experience. Please include a resume and 100 word writing sample (Should be something you've done already. Can be an article or pr release or past blog post, even. We just want to see if you can write).
Thank you and hope to hear from you soon.
