Information regarding visits:
Visits are typically 1-2 times each day per household, for 1-14 days, and usually range from 20 to 90 minutes per visit. You'll provide pet feeding, walking, clean-up, plant watering, mail pickup, etc. while clients are traveling or at work. Overnight stays are also needed occasionally.
Requirements for the position:
- You have reliable, insured (preferably 'dog-friendly') transportation and a clean driving record.
- You are easy to reach. Must have a cell phone, internet access and respond quickly to email & text messages.
- You can commit to working with us until at least September 2012. The pets will want to develop a long-term relationship with you.
- You are passionate and knowledgeable about the care of dogs, cats and other animals.
- You are available for morning, afternoon, evening and overnight visits.
- You can work on weekends and at least 2 of the 3 major winter holidays.
- You work well independently, are detail oriented and resourceful.
- You have excellent communication skills, are self-motivated, responsible and organized.
- You are clean and considerate in client's homes. Must possess the utmost discretion and respect for safety, security and privacy.
- You can pass a criminal / background check.
- You have at least 2 pet sitting references.
- Experience giving cats & dogs oral & injectable medication preferred.
Hours vary daily and pay rate is up to $20 per hour.
