More infoWe are looking for a caring, fun-loving and very patient person to be a companion for an 82 year old woman in Santa Monica. She is in her home and just needs someone to accompany her during the day and to take her on outings, take her out to dine and take her out on drives. She absolutely LOVES going out on drives and seeing the scenery around the coast (you would drive HER car). She does have cognitive problems and sometimes, if she becomes flustered, she would rather be by herself than surrounded by people, so we would like someone who understands that she can have her space sometimes. She is VERY particular about her appearance and wants to have a companion who is also very particular about their appearance (hence the request for a headshot or photo). While professional caregiving and/or companionship experience is not required, it would certainly help. We need someone who is very patient and can handle her because she does have a lot of energy and she likes to be in charge of her day-to-day schedule. Any prior experience in a personal, family or professional setting with the elderly, disabled or Alzheimer's disease is welcome. Previous experience as a driver a PLUS.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with individuals who have had a psychological condition, suffered a stroke, heart attack, or other diseases and/or injuries.
- Provide head shots (they do not need to be professionally done).
- Excellent English skills.
- Have your own car for transportation.
- Be able to work evenings and/or weekends and to be FLEXIBLE with shifts.
- Shifts are 8 to 12 hours.
- This is a live-out position.
- $15-16/hr.
- Clean background
