Party Earth is looking for a creative and highly skilled Front End Developer/UI Developer to implement the user interface and user experience for the Party Earth website (http://www.partyearth.com) and digital applications. The Front End Developer/UI Developer will be a key member of the Web Team and play an integral role in bringing cutting edge features to life.

Note: This is a full-time position.

Responsibilities:
? Code and develop the user interface for a young, hip audience based on provided visual designs, mock-ups/wireframes, and requirements
? Participate in all phases of the development lifecycle
o Participate in feature discussions to gain understanding of user and system functionality
o Assist graphic designers to determine the user experience and page layouts
o Implement the user interface and work with back end developers to ensure a seamless flow with the back end web application
o Debug and test the UI and work to ensure the design meets specifications
o Conduct ongoing maintenance, bug fixes, and operations to the user interface
? Ensure multi-browser support and functionality
? Maintain cutting-edge knowledge of modern browser capabilities, compatibility issues and behaviors, standards compliance, and accessibility issues
? Seek innovative ways to incorporate new ideas into the user experience

Programming/Technical Qualifications:
? CSS
? HTML
? Javascript
? jQuery or other Javascript frameworks
? Ajax
? Photoshop, Illustrator
? Nice to have: HAML, Flash, exposure to Ruby on Rails
? Mobile interface experience a plus (mobile web sites, iPhone, Android, Blackberry, etc.)

Qualifications:
? Minimum of 2 years experience of front end and/or user interface development on high traffic, consumer-facing sites, ideally in the media and entertainment industry
? Experience implementing, and testing user interfaces for the following:
o Content-focused websites (written, photo, video, and user-generated content)
o User communities/Social networks
o Mobile sites and mobile applications
o Marketing and advertising components
o Third-party sites, tools, and functionality (i.e. Google Maps, You Tube)
? Ability to hand code standards compliant, cross-browser compatible HTML and CSS
? Experience optimizing images for web use
? Solid understanding of different digital platforms: web, mobile/iPhone and desktop apps
? Understanding of the principles of usability and web/interactive design
? Ability to think outside the box and come up with original and creative ideas
? Ability to work in a team environment but also independently with minimum direction
? Strong work ethic
? Excellent written and verbal communication skills
? Extreme attention to detail
? Ability to work in a "start-up" environment
