The Software Documentation Writer II, under general supervision, will create and maintain software user manuals, technical reference manuals, online help content, and training materials for client-facing publication and internal reference. The position's core responsibility is to work with subject matter experts to document web-based system usage procedures as well as underlying technical and administrative information in a clear, accurate, attractive, consistent and maintainable fashion.
The successful candidate will be passionate about technology, uncompromising on work quality, and detail-oriented. You must demonstrate this by inserting the phrase "driven to succeed" into the second sentence of your cover letter.
The position requires strong English communications skills, understanding of the audience, the ability to execute and refine documentation processes, technical proficiency, a positive team-player attitude, and a desire to succeed in a highly-dynamic small business environment.
The ideal candidate will possess the following technical skills and experience:
? Ability to learn new software applications and complex business processes quickly
? The ability to execute and refine documentation production and maintenance processes
? Expert-level proficiency with Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat
? Experience with online help development systems or other pertinent tools also desirable
? BA/BS degree in English, Technical Writing or MIS preferred
? Minimum 3 years of software technical writing experience, preferably in a COTS/ISV environment
