Regional waste management and processing company seeks Senior Staff Accountant/Supervisor for headquaters located in the City of Industry. Send Resume with Salary History. Resumes without salary history will not be considered.

Responsibilities:

? Compiles financial information and assists in the preparation of reports including the preparation of budgets and related analysis.
? Records, classifies, and summarizes financial transactions and events in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.
? Keeps abreast of laws and regulations that apply to a particular staff function or field of professional expertise to maintain up-to-date compliance.
? Initiates and processes journal entries into various accounts.
? Reconciles sub-ledgers to the general ledger and resolves differences.
? Provides information to individuals or organizations outside of the company; explains accounting transactions; resolves accounting issues and discrepancies.
? Uses various software applications, such as spreadsheets, relational databases, statistical packages, and graphics packages to assemble, manipulate and/or format data and/or reports.
? Applies a working knowledge of applicable laws and regulations; verifies documents for completeness and compliance with government and private agencies.
? Reconciles to bank statements.
? Participates in special projects as assigned by Controller including bid and proposal projects, acquisitions and mergers.

Skills and Educational Requirements:
? Bachelor's degree in accounting, business, or related field from an accredited college or university.
? Four years related work experience required. Cost Accounting a BIG plus.
? Additional education may be substituted for experience.
? Proficiency in the use of software applications, databases, spreadsheets, and/ or word processing required. Great Plains experience a plus.
