Position Details:
Under the general direction of the company's Controller, this position oversees the company's financial reporting and takes a lead in the month-end close process. Key responsibilities include financial statement generation, month-end Board package preparation and project management of variance process improvement initiatives.
Job Responsibilities include:
? Support operations for the general ledger and the monthly close process;
? Ensure that accounting records are prepared and maintained in accordance with IFRS and the company's accounting policies, chart of accounts and related accounting principles and practices, and that subordinate ledgers reconcile with the general ledger;
? Assist with internal and external audit processes;
? Review audit schedules for accuracy prior to releasing them to the external/internal audit teams;
? Create periodic financial statements and analyses;
? Prescribe methods of providing financial data for non-standard reports and statements;
? Collaborate with management to develop schedules, procedures, and systems to enable the timely accumulation, adjustment, and reporting of financial data;
? Monitor internal control procedures to maintain company financial integrity;
? Develop, motivate and manage the performance of staff to ensure optimum, timely and accurate service;
? Resolve escalated issues from department with internal and external customers;
? Review and verify accuracy of information, journal entries and ledgers;
? Develop and ensure adherence to internal control documentation relating to the general ledger;
? Assist Controller and Vice President of Finance as required, and other duties as assigned.
Minimum Job Requirements include:
? Bachelor's degree is required.
? Minimum of five to ten (5-10) years of Finance/Accounting management experience.
? CPA is preferred.
? Demonstrated understanding of IFRS and US GAAP accounting concepts and principles.
? Experience with managing and directing a diversified staff.
? Strong project management and analytical skills are essential.
? Microsoft Office 2007 proficiency (Word, Excel (Advanced Level including pivot tables), Outlook, PowerPoint, Internet Explorer).
? Experience with ERP systems (eg., Oracle, SAP) preferred.
? Special consideration given to those with Advantage accounting system experience.
? Demonstrated ability to multi-task and maintain excellent organizational skills.
? Demonstrated flexibility in job responsibilities. Due to fluctuating demands, and the nature of Icon Media Direct's business flow, it may be necessary for each team member to perform a multitude of different functions not specifically outlined above.
? The Financial Analysis Manager will demonstrate a helpful, pleasant and professional demeanor. Excellent communication skills are required.
