Seeking a candidate to provide digital imaging support for Production Staff and Manager.
Candidate must have scheduling flexibility, with full time availability as a technician within the day, swing, and graveyard shifts. When responding to ad, please include what days / shifts would be workable for you.
As directed in the Production Department, support our operation in the copy dot scanning and digital compositing of images created from film based elements for comic books, originally produced at medium and large prepress publication firms. Technician must have strong experience working with applications such as Adobe Photoshop in a high volume, production based environment Any additional experience with prepress digital software such as Prinergy or Brisque is a plus, as is any experience on the physical production side of prepress, as well as knowledge of color theory for both cinematic & lithographic production.
Additional areas of work to be supported within the position:
In addition to the described work in digital imaging, technician will work in other areas within the larger archival department. This work includes media consolidation, film consolidation, stock footage harvesting, and management of intermediate storage for film, video, and other media formats. Such tasks involve the following:
Handling of original film negative and video elements from current and past motion pictures and television series.
Using a secure Internet connection, data entering all elements metadata into proprietary studio computer systems.
Cross-referencing of stock footage pull lists to scene, take, and key number information on film; build and splice stock footage clips into archival rolls.
Building and splicing of element consolidation rolls.
Creating complete physical and digital inventory data for all negative and video materials.
Providing support in building cartons and pallets of material to be shipped as directed.
As directed in the Digital Department, potentially help to support our operation in DVD Dailies and Screeners authoring.
DVD Dailies work requires solid experience with a desktop NLE application, such as Final Cut Pro, Avid, Premiere Pro, or Sony Vegas.
DVD Dailies work requires strong attention to detail in data entry, and file management.
Experience in machine room deck operations is a plus.
Experience as an Apple certified technician is also a plus.
Work requires flexibility in providing various hours for varying shifts.
Other duties as assigned.
Summary Requirements:
Production or Post Production experience.
Strong experience working with applications such as Adobe Photoshop, Prinergy, and Brisque in a high volume, prepress, production based environment.
Comfortable with data entry and digital file management.
Team player who can successfully interact with multiple departments/people.
Can handle and lift up to 80 lbs.
Other special projects may be added as needed.
