We are an emerging label in contemporary knitwear who seek a Freelance Design/Production Assistant with apparel background who is dedicated, hardworking, and passionate in growing their career in apparel. This is a full-time role.

The Assistant will work closely with the Design Director and VP of Production and Sourcing to facilitate all stages from design & development through the production of a complete knitwear collection for both Men's and Women's.

Job Description will include but may not be limited to:
*Create and update linesheets and produce color CADs
*Daily communication with domestic vendors to ensure timely execution of fabric/trim and proto development. Must be proactive in correspondence to also maintain quality in product.
*Assist with fabric and trim development & sourcing. Responsible for maintaining and updating fabric and trim library
*Research market trends and color story
*Daily and/or weekly visits to contractors and vendors
*Assist with development and updates of technical packages
*Coordinate and track fit samples
*Coordinate and track photoshoot samples
*Attend fittings and help to issue fit comments to vendors
*Track product development and production and maintain work in progress report
*Assist production cutting, sewing quality assurance and garment dye audits
*Assist in-house quality audits

Experience & Qualifications:
*BFA in Fashion Design preferred
*2-3 years experience is preferred
*Sketching ability in Adobe Illustrator is required
*Must be proficient in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and Microsoft Office
*Must be highly organized and detail-oriented
*Must have strong communication skills and be a team player
*Must have transportation available
