PR Account Executive for Independent Agency (Santa Monica)

We're a PR + social marketing agency that believes in supporting the brands that support the planet and its people. We create campaigns that build awareness, drive growth and make a difference. We're lucky to work with a wide array of clients, both corporate and consumer, across a range of industries including LOHAS, health and wellness, fitness and yoga, food and beverage, technology, fashion and entertainment, non profits and politics.
We're looking to meet an account executive with 1-2 years experience in public relations - really, experience with consumer products in an agency setting is key here. Someone extremely results driven in garnering great media coverage, able to carry out strategic campaigns and support the President in managing the unmanageable. Should be down to earth, able to manage a wide range of priorities and thrive on good work. This position offers high growth opportunities.
A day-in-the-life would include:
--Traditional + New media relations and targeting
--Drafting press releases and pitches
--News monitoring and tracking clips
--Managing President's calendar
--Tracking business expenses
--Potential travel + travel planning
--Management of press kit creation and ongoing updates
--Event planning and activation
--Brand Ambassador/celebrity outreach
Qualities we value:
--Impeccable communication, grammar, presentation and writing skills -- this is communications here, people!
--Attention to detail and thoroughness that borders on obsessive compulsive
--Relationships with the media (trade and consumer print as well as broadcast and online)
--Ability to find "the story" in media relations and smart on-the-ground and online activations

--Knowledge of PR clip tracking programs (VMS, Burrelles Luce, Vocus, Google Alerts, etc)
--Experience with media contact databases (Cision, Vocus, etc)
--Level understanding of prioritization and ability to meet deadlines
--Technical skills (e.g. SEO, photoshop, illustrator, website content management systems) a huge plus. Please highlight in cover letter.
