Job Description and Duties:  The Human Resources generalist is responsible for implementing human resources policies, procedures, and programs and day-to-day administration of HR processes in assigned facilities within Searles Valley Minerals. This position partners with management to provide advice and counsel to line managers and supervisors to ensure uniformity of HR Practices that are aligned with Company goals. This job facilitates effective internal employee communications and participates in the development of compensation, training, policies and procedures, and benefit programs to strategically impact the competitiveness of the company.

This position is accountable to:
1. Deliver HR processes and services that meet quality standards and are established by best practices.
2. Partner with management in developing strategies to recruit and fill open positions to identify critical talent and build organization capabilities.
3. Anticipate, identify, and facilitate resolution of employee relations issues to provide a more fully functional workforce.
4. Consult with management business partners on training and development needs to ensure successful delivery of employee development curriculums.
5. Provide coaching to management on leadership practices to achieve company goals and develop their workgroups.
6. Commit to a safe working environment free from harm ensuring personal safety and the safety of others.

Experience/Education Qualifications:  Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Labor & Industrial Relations, Business or related field preferred and five to eight years increasingly responsible Human Resources experience. A SHRM and/or ISCEB Certification preferred. At least 5 years of staff and line HR experience employed in the State of California with a thorough understanding and knowledge of California employment law gained through direct experience. Understanding and thorough knowledge of Federal employment law.  Union avoidance experience.  Competent in the use of office software such as Word and Excel.  Two years of experience with HRIS systems such as PeopleSoft, Lawson, or TotalHR.
