Web Application Engineer (Long Beach)


About the job

Eye-Fi is looking for Software Engineers to build our next generation of web applications, in our new office in Long Beach, CA. In this role, you will work closely with product and design teams to build a web app that marries closely with our desktop and mobile apps. There is also a possibility for designing embedded apps for mobile and tv with HTML5/CSS3. This role will essentially own the development of http://center.eye.fi, which helps our users manage their personal photo and video cloud.

Here is what we will be looking for on your resume: 3-5 years of experience building web applications using one of the following: PHP, Python, RoR, or Java.Expert-level proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScriptAdvanced-level proficiency in at least one web toolkit like jQuery, Dojo, Prototype, YUIFamiliarity with AJAX and RESTful web servicesExperience working in an Agile environmentLateral thinking: strong analytical and creative thinking skillsBachelor's degree in Computer Science OR equivalent experienceIn addition to the points above, we'd love to hear something interesting about yourself, such as example projects you've worked on, a GitHub profile, blogs, etc.

About the location

Our Los Angeles office is strategically located in the heart of downtown Long Beach, right off the 710 freeway, and close to the 405. It's an opposite commute coming from Santa Monica and Irvine. We enjoy over 300 days of sunshine a year on average. The ocean and beaches are just a few blocks away. The Aquarium of the Pacific is close enough for lunch breaks. Mountains, deserts, and San Diego are just a couple hours away.
