DirectPath Home Loans is looking for a front-line mortgage underwriter with current experience to join us in opening a unique retail direct home lending branch to serve consumers and real estate professionals as an Underwriter/Assistant Branch Manager. These clients enjoy local access to a decentralized lending team empowered to approve, process, underwrite and fund loans on site in a beautiful new store front mortgage office. This is similar to the original Countrywide Retail model and culture, where our CEO, Jeff Seabold, started his career. Compensation is competitive with quarterly & annual bonus plans and excellent benefits. Candidates should have a strong desire to build relationships and serve the community where they work and live. Additionally, candidates with their DE Certificate and a working knowledge of Encompass are pluses. Available positions are currently located in Pasadena, Northridge, Rancho Cucamonga, and Palmdale.

Requirements
? Must have current underwriting experience
? Underwrite residential mortgage loans and equity lines in accordance with established loan policies, procedures and regulations. Loan types will include portfolio loans, government loans, and those for sale on the secondary market
? Analyze credit file and issue quality loan decisions based on guidelines and company guidelines
? Effectively communicate loan decisions with the processing and origination staff
? Maintain current knowledge of underwriting guidelines, and stay up to date with any new guidelines/regulations
? Ensure loans meet product and investor specifications

Qualifications
? Government Loan (DE) experience, certification preferred
? Understanding of residential mortgage products and documentation requirements
? Experience with current loan processing systems and technology
? Thorough understanding and experience with secondary mortgage market lending requirements is essential
? Ability to make appropriate, independent decisions
? Strong communication skills
? Self directed with exceptional time management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and projects within established deadlines
? Proficient with standard desktop computer applications.
