We are looking for a highly motivated, pro-active buyer who is willing and able to wear multiple hats. You will be working directly with the owner of the company to ensure as close to Just in time inventory as possible. Candidate must have the ability to implement a system used for forecasting as one currently does not exist. Please do not send resume if you have not ever set up a purchasing system before. Once forecasting system is implemented job would require a consistent review of inventory needs, creation of purchase orders and overall management of the entire buying process including following up with factories and shipping companies.
You must also have the following:
• Minimum of 5 years overseas (China) purchasing experience
• Track record of just in time inventory
• Self motivated leader able to take on multiple projects
• Able to control an inventory in excess of 5,000 items with variable velocities
• Logistics experience a plus
• Excellent Excel skills a must
• Able to work long hours and weekends when needed
• Website building and maintenance a plus
• Operations experience a plus
