We are Public School, a new gastropub style full-service dining concept that is getting to ready to open in early summer of 2013 in Westlake Village. We currently have a Public School next to Daily Grill in Downtown Los Angeles that according to The Squirrel Co. "Nevermind recess. . .Public School 612 is downtown's hidden secret that will get you racing once the lunch bell rings!". We are seeking an energetic and highly talented Sous Chef to join our opening team at Public School.

Our Sous Chefs are responsible for:

Responsibilities:

* Hiring, training and discipline of kitchen Team Members
* Reviewing and evaluating all kitchen Team Members
* Responsible for all kitchen administration
* Responsible for cost control
* Works with Culinary in developing additional menu items
* Ensures consistency and portioning of all food
* Responsible for in-restaurant purchasing
* Ensures a clean and sanitary kitchen
* Ensures upkeep, repair and maintenance of all kitchen equipment

Required Skills:

* Experience in all stations on the line
* Has great decision making skills
* Has superb organizational skills
* Knowledge of correct portions and positions on plates
* Able to order and receive
* Proactive, punctual and a great communicator (must read, write and speak English)
* Must be committed to our mission and culture

Required Experience:

* Must have at least 2-3 years experience as a working Sous Chef or Assistant Kitchen Manager, in an upscale casual or gastro pub style restaurant
* POS and Office computer software experience
