Senior LAMP Developer

Job Description

? This is a FULL-TIME, IN-HOUSE position. NO CONTRACTORS AND NO FREELANCERS PLEASE.
? LAMP Developer will work closely with the rest of the production team to delivery quality code, product deliverables, and service to clients.
? Scope of work includes PHP coding, server administration, professional communication with teammates and clients, integration with libraries and frameworks, occasional installation of code libraries and frameworks, integration with 3rd-party APIs such as Facebook and Twitter, and development and maintenance of custom CMSs.
? LAMP Developer will strategize, build, maintain, and optimize code for clients. Some projects will require developer to work with pre-existing code, while other projects will require developer to plan, perform, and oversee development.
? LAMP Developer will occasionally need to train other staff members and clients and provide technical documentation.
? LAMP Developer will occasionally participate in technical consultation, code and project design, and code reviews.
? LAMP Developer is expected to provide accurate estimates, provide regular feedback, and consistently meet project deadlines.

Skill Requirements

? Strong knowledge of PHP, OOD/OOP, Linux (LAMP), MySQL is required.
? Basic knowledge of HTML, JavaScript, and CSS is necessary. Expert knowledge in these areas is a definite plus.
? Previous experience with at least one Content Management System (CMS)--whether it be Joomla, WordPress, Drupal, or one that you have custom-built--is preferred.
? Other pluses that would set the ideal candidate apart include knowledge of an MVC framework (e.g., Zend, Symfony, CodeIgniter, CakePHP), Web Services (SOAP, REST), Facebook API, Memcached, NoSQL (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra ), localization / internationalization, unit testing, and a BS or higher in Computer Science or related field.
