Kenter Canyon is a high performing school located in an affluent residential area of Los Angeles, 2.5 miles west from Sunset Blvd. and the I-405; then, one mile north of Sunset Boulevard on Kenter Avenue.
Qualifications:
1.) Must have an associates or bachelors degree from an accredited college or university, OR take and pass the LAUSD Proficiency Exam and currently have at least 60 credits from an accredited college or university. Applicant must provide original OFFICIAL TRANSCRIPTS.
2.) Must have a copy of a high school diploma with the month, day, and year of graduation printed on the diploma. Otherwise, an accompanying letter will need to be provided from the institution with such information.
3.) Must have an original Social Security Card or receipt for application of one.
4.) Must have a Driver License or Government issued photo Identification Card.
5.) Must agree to be subjected to Tuberculosis Clearance and Fingerprinting with Department of Justice.

Skills and Experience:
1.) Knowledge of the special subject matter of the instructional activity
2.) Knowledge of standards of courtesy and behavior expected of students
3.) Knowledge of safety rules and procedures related to the instructional activity
4.) Have an ability to speak, read, and write clear, understandable English
5.) Have an ability to perform the physical tasks required in preparing and presenting educational material and conducting instructional activities
6.) Have the skills to communicate specialized information to pupils with varying levels of
understanding
7.) Have patience and flexibility to perform other duties as assigned.
Compensation and Hours:
8:30 a.m. -- 11:30 a.m. on school days
$10.79 per hour

Job Description: To assist Kenter classroom teachers with specific needs within the classroom that are not covered under the LAUSD Instructional Aide job description provided above. Support to teachers may include library assistance, art or physical education class support, etc.
