Sales/Marketing Manager Position
Lead historic hotel and Convention Center's reservations and revenue generating functions with great enthusiasm while boosting our customer service standards. This individual will be responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with current clients while aggressively pursuing new accounts, creating, executing and evaluating marketing efforts, and providing operations assistance on a flexible schedule.
Position Responsibilities Include:
- Must have excellent Business to Business skills
- Achieve and exceed account and revenue goals
- Ability to develop and execute sales action plans and close on targeted accounts
- Foster and build relationships with current clients while identifying new accounts
- Respond professionally to all telephone, written and walk-in inquiries
- Gather intelligence on competitors to plan strategies and long term goals
- Extensive phone solicitation and personal sales calls into targeted markets
- Prepare and present sales proposals and contracts
- Attend trade shows, community and business events as necessary to acquire new business leads
- Accurately track and record activity
- Complete weekly and monthly reports
- Manage filing and organization of the Sales Office
- Provide sales training to hotel staff as applicable
- Provide excellent follow-up
- Perform site inspections and implement improvements to facilities
- Plan and manage hotel events, banquets, mixers and workshops
- Achieve teamwork with co-workers
- Handle special projects as requested

Position Requirements Include:
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four year institute or equivalent education
- Minimum of 5 years Sales and Marketing experience in Hospitality related field
- Exceptional Written and Verbal Communication and Presentation skills
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite, Internet and new media technology
- Proactive sales approach, assertive and fast-paced, driven to succeed
- Ability to be flexible with schedule and work as needed, including weekends and holidays
- Have valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
- Be comfortable working with Christian owners/managers. Insist upon high ethical standards
