Network Engineer / Field Technician

PCS Group is a full-service 22 year old IT outsourcing company based in Valencia CA , Covering all of Southern California. PCS provides hardware services ranging from Server Support, PC and Printer Service. Our focus is to allow our clients to outsource as many of their IT functions as desired from technology strategy to full management, administration and support of their system platforms including their network, Virus Protection, Language Interpreter. We form close relationships with our clients and work hard to exceed their expectations.
Our target market is comprised of Los Angeles and Orange County-based companies with 5 to 50 users. Our clients include companies in Hospitality services, legal, accounting, technology, healthcare, travel, and many other industries. We are seeking a full-time, high-energy, experienced, Network Filed Engineer , growth into Management Opportunities available as well.

Responsibilities
Our Network Engineers are focused on delivering network Support, Printer Support, Network Installation, and excellent customer service to our clients. The Network Engineer is responsible for installing, and troubleshooting networks including operating systems on servers and workstations and Point of sale units; implementing internet connectivity, routers, switches, firewalls, virus protection, email systems and back-up; selecting, installing and maintaining applications; After Hours On Call Rotation is also to be expected.

Experience & Qualifications
The Network Engineer must have three to five years of relevant, hands-on experience. Specific experience and qualifications desired include:

? Experience PC & Laser Printer Repair, Virus Removal.
? Knowledge of Windows 2003/2008, MS Exchange, Small Business Server Active Directory, SQL Server
? Experience with implementing Firewalls, VPN connections and WAN connectivity, preferably with Wireless products.
? Solid understanding of TCP/IP Wins/DNS/DHCP and the ability to troubleshoot network and internet connectivity issues.
? Windows XP/Windows 7 troubleshooting and configuration
? Knowledge of supporting MS Office, MS Internet Explorer, MS Outlook,
? Configuration of standard POP3/IMAP4 and SMTP clients including Outlook and Exchange

Education
MCSE Certification, A+ or equivalent with primary focus on Microsoft solutions. Prefer candidate with undergraduate degree in a technical discipline such as computer science, engineering, etc.

We are looking for a dynamic team player with professional demeanor and appearance. Critical characteristics include being customer-satisfaction oriented with urgency in responding to customer requests. Key considerations include:
? Excellent customer service skills, with great verbal and written communication skills
* Willing to drive throughout Southern California with a days notice, Normal week
would require 5 days in the field, Gas mileage compensation is reimbursed.
? Strong interpersonal and time management skills
? Ability to provide leadership and technical advice to customers, engineers, and other service employees
Level of Maturity
? Ability and willingness to recognize when it is necessary to ask for technical expertise from others
? Takes ownership of tasks and follows through to ensure a smooth transition in hand-offs
? Takes personal interest in, and responsibility for, quality of work they perform or are associated with
? Ability to pay close attention to detail while performing technically detailed tasks

? Some evening and weekend hours are necessary
Learning Ability
? Ability to quickly learn the basics of any Windows desktop application not already known to them, through the use of self-study materials
? Ability to share easy-to-understand technical explanations about their own areas of expertise to others and a willingness to contribute to troubleshooting dialog with other consultants Communication
? Adequate combination of product knowledge and technical knowledge that makes it possible to determine what may or may not be achieved
? Ability to articulate technical information clearly to non-technical people
? Ability to communicate internal and external difficulties effectively and to propose solutions in a constructive manner
? Excellent communication and innovative problem resolution skills

Location
On Site Support of our Southern California clients is required. You must have your own transportation & insurance.
