The Access Center Manager will exercise primary responsibility for the operational, clinical and educational functions of the work area. Plans programs that facilitate the development of staff and will delegate portions of this responsibility to subordinates. While maintaining a team approach to the shared responsibilities, functions independently as needed in all aspects of the work area. Supervises support staff. Collaborates with other departments to achieve the goals and objectives of the work area. Maintains skills of the staff to initiate and carry out ethical discourse. Ensures that all policies/procedures are age and /or developmentally appropriate. Functions as a change agent. Demonstrates commitment to a customer service and a patient focused model of service delivery. Employee will follow applicable policies and procedures. EMTALA, HIPAA, CAMTS, as required.
Develops Implements yearly goals/objectives and plans based on strategic plan. Evaluates yearly goals and performance improvement initiatives based on changing environment, and modifies as necessary. Develops strategies to accomplish yearly goals and performance improvement initiatives within allocated budget. Develops and recommends operating and capital budget for area or responsibility using principles of cost benefit analysis in decision-making. Monitors expenditures on a monthly basis; prepares variance reports with appropriate justification.
Other duties & responsibilities include Human Resources Management, Operations, Professional and Educational Accountability, and Consumer Relations and Communication.
As Manager, is clinically knowledgeable of disease processes and age appropriate skills of the following age groups: Neonate, Toddler, Adolescent, Infant, Preschool, Young Adult, School Age, Adult.
Minimum Experience Required:
Two years of recent pediatric experience.
Preferred:
Previous supervisory experience; previous fiscal management experience.
Minimum Education/Training Required:
Bachelors Degree in a health related field from an accredited school.
License, Registration or Certification Required:
CA RN license, BLS and PALS required
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
Thorough knowledge of the principles pertaining to the area of responsibility. Ability to lead others and apply organizational skills. Ability to communicate effectively, tactfully both verbally and in writing.
